Electric Street, West Yellowstone, MT 59758) - Just four miles from the West Entrance, Yellowstone Grizzly RV Park is a popular and high-end choice for RVers. The park offers full hookups, a great camp store, a playground, spacious sites, a heated pool, cabin rentals and a hot tub.

  2. Yellowstone Holiday RV Campground & Marina (16990 Hebgen Lake St, West Yellowstone, MT 59758) - this small lakeside campground with gorgeous views is 15 minutes from the West Yellowstone entrance and has a nice marina with a boat ramp and boat rentals. The campground is immaculately maintained and offers fire pits, concrete pads, picnic table, and a small camp store.

  3. Buffalo Crossing RV Park (101 S. Canyon Street, West Yellowstone, MT) - Just 10 miles from the West Entrance, this small park offers full hookups, a laundry facility, its own small movie theater, and free Wi-Fi. The park also has a convenience store and gift shop.

  4. RedRock RV Park (3707 Red Rock Road, Island Park, ID 83429) - 17 miles from the West Entrance, this lovely campground with great amenities offers cabin rentals, full hookups, a laundry facility, games, pickleball, a playground, and off-roading rentals. The park is also pet-friendly.

  5. Yellowstone Park/West Gate KOA Holiday (3305 Targhee Pass Hwy, West Yellowstone, MT 59758) - This well-located park near the West Entrance, offers full-hook-ups, great views, shaded sites, cabins, and an indoor pool. Guests rave about the full-service “snack bar” which serves full meals daily.

Entering through Gardiner, Montana

Yellowstone’s North Entrance is in Gardiner, Montana and it’s the only entrance that's open year-round.

From this entrance, you’ll have easy access to popular destinations like Mammoth Hot Springs and Lamar Valley—known as the Serengeti of the U.S.—where you’re likely to see grizzlies, black bears, bison, elk, and wolves, to name a few!

The devastating floods in 2022—which destroyed park access roads—was a blow to this vibrant tourist town. Thankfully, the roads have been repaired and Gardiner remains a fun, bustling small town.

  1. Sun Outdoors Yellowstone North (14 Jardine Rd., Gardiner, MT 59030) - offering gorgeous views, this park offers deluxe sites with full hook-ups, and a small dog park. Many guests report spotting wildlife!

  2. Yellowstone RV Park - (9601 Scott St W, Gardiner, MT 59030) - Just 0.6 miles from the North Entrance, this park offers spacious gravel RV sites (with picnic tables and grassy areas) with full hookups, laundry facilities, showers, WiFi, fire rings, and picnic tables.

  3. Yellowstone Hot Springs Campground (24 E. Gate Rd., Gardiner, MT 59030) - This basic RV park offers a wonderful natural mineral hot spring pool as well as a cold plunge pool. It also offers wifi, full hook-ups, laundry and shower facilities. 

Gardiner offers several private campgrounds as well as more primitive campgrounds in nearby Custer Gallatin National Forest.

Entering through Silver Gate, Montana

The Northeast Entrance’s Silver Gate and nearby Cooke City, Montana are small towns, but they offer dining and other services. 

This entrance puts you near the abundant wildlife in Lamar Valley and the sweeping alpine vistas of the Beartooth Highway.

Top campgrounds near Yellowstone’s Northeast Entrance 

Private campgrounds are in short supply at this entrance. Federal land campgrounds (with few amenities, hook ups and services) are nearby.

  1. Colter Campground - (Custer Gallatin National Forest) - this rustic campground does not take reservations (it’s on a first-come-first-serve basis) and offers no hook-ups, but has gorgeous views for those looking to be more “off grid.” It does offer pit toilets and picnic tables. Custer Gallatin also has a list of all campgrounds near Yellowstone. Note the Blacksford RV Rentals does not allow its RVs to be taken on unpaved roads, so check road access to each campground.

  2. Big Moose Resort (715 US Hwy 212, Cooke City, MT 59020) - this lovely campground along the beautiful Beartooth Highway, offers stunning views and has full hook-ups, rustic sites, wildlife viewing, and a hot tub. It features charming rustic log cabins if you have guests or want a little extra space.

Entering through Grand Teton National Park, WY

Connected by a shared border, Yellowstone’s South Entrance is accessed through Grand Teton National Park. Navigate to Grand Teton National Park from Jackson, Wyoming—an upscale town with tons of shops, restaurants, amenities and services.

The beautiful drive from Grand Teton National Park’s main entrance in Jackson, Wyoming, takes a little over an hour. Some campgrounds are across the nearby border with Idaho, which adds about 30 minutes to your drive.

This entrance puts you near Yellowstone’s West Thumb Geyser Basin, Old Faithful, Yellowstone Lake, and the wildlife-rich Lamar Valley.

Top campgrounds near Yellowstone’s South Entrance

  1. The Virginian RV Park (750 West Broadway, Jackson, WY) - located right in the heart of posh and fun Jackson, Wyoming, this upscale park has amenities galore—a restaurant, burger spot, salon (with massages available), a saloon, a bottle shop, and several retail shops. Plus a gorgeous courtyard with fire pits and a pool with hot tubs. The sites are spacious, have picnic tables and offer shade. And it’s pet-friendly! 

  2. Teton Valley Resort (1208 ID-31, Victor, ID 83455) - located in nearby Idaho, about 30 minutes from Jackson, WY, this RV park with cabins offers great amenities—a heated pool with a hot tub, a delicious poolside bistro, pickleball courts, a playground, and public fire pits. It offers luxury cabins as well as teepees for extra guests! The RV sites are paved and have full hook-ups. There is basic shopping and amenities in the nearby town of Victor.

  3. Moose Creek Ranch (2733 E. 10800 South, Victor, ID 83455) - the charming ranch in nearby Victor, Idaho, offers 15 RV sites with full hook-ups as well as luxury cabins, an event barn, horseshoes and bocce. It’s located on Moose Creek which is great for fishing. It offers easy access to hiking and mountain biking trails.

  4. The Park at Swan Valley (1908 Chapel Rd., Swan Valley, ID 83449) - this family-owned campground offers a peaceful spot with great views on its 20 acres. Expect large gravel sites, full hook-ups, shower/bath facilities, and is dog-friendly.

  5. Palisades Cabins & RV Park (3804 Swan Valley Hwy U-26, Irwin, ID 83428) - also located near Swan Valley, Idaho, rustic but charming RV park has a playground, gas grills, firepits, picnic tables, charming cabins and a nature trail to the nearby river. Expect gravel RV sites with full hook-ups.

Entering through Cody, Wyoming

The vibrant, authentic Old West town of Cody, Wyoming makes this entrance a lot of fun with rodeos, western museums, and the Buffalo Bill Center of the West. There is plenty of dining, shopping, entertainment and services, in addition to several campgrounds. 

The East Entrance puts you near Yellowstone Lake, the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone, and Old Faithful.

Top campgrounds near Yellowstone’s East Entrance

  1. Buffalo Bluff RV Park (137 Belfry Hwy, Cody, WY 82414) - this newly opened (2021) campground is big-rig friendly which means large sites with full hook-ups. They have shower suites, a dog park, laundry, and even wheelchair accessible sites. It’s 50 miles from Yellowstone’s East Entrance and just five minutes from charming downtown Cody, WY. 

  2. Cody KOA Holiday (556 Greybull Hwy, Cody, WY 82414) - this 123-site RV campground offers great family-friendly amenities such as a heated pool hot tub, a wading pool and a kids FunZone. They also offer cabins as well as a free shuttle to the nightly Cody Nite Rodeo. And don’t miss their free pancakes each morning!

  3. Cody Trout Ranch Camp (1 Trout Ranch Rd., Cody, WY 82424) - this small campground with 39 RV sites offers gravel sites with full hook-ups and picnic tables. It has fun teepee camping as well as sheep wagon camping. The park has a fishing pond, playground, coffee shop, and laundry.

  4. Green Creek Inn & RV Park (2908 Northfork Hwy, Cody, WY 82414) - midway between Cody and the East Entrance to Yellowstone, this solid campground offers level sites with full hook-ups, laundry, shower-bath facilities as well as basic hotel rooms and cabins. They are pet friendly and even have a coffee and breakfast concession.

  5. Absaroka Bay RV Park (2002 Hwy 14/16/20, Cody, WY 82414) - this basic campground near fun Cody offers full hook-ups and picnic tables. The advantages of this quiet park are the views and location.
